Ashtin Sewell serves as Founding Partner and Chief Visionary Officer at Apex Kinetic Integration, where he sets the direction for how adaptive fitness should be done, and still trains clients hands on himself. He calls it being a maverick: not rebellion, but the freedom to move and live fully despite whatever has tried to hold you back.

His connection to the work is personal. Raised in Inglewood, California, Ashtin is a family man whose niece is autistic, and watching her be defined by other people's limitations lit a fire in him to change that narrative. He's always been drawn to an underdog story, not only from the client side of the gym floor, but in his own life, having faced hard things of his own and come out the other side.

Ashtin's path here runs through hospitality and years of people focused work, including time in mental health services. He's traveled extensively, seeking to leave places better than he found them rather than add to their hardship, and that same instinct shapes how he shows up for every client and family AKI serves. He's been delivering personal training for 4 years, certified through ISSA and credentialed as an Inclusive Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine.

Christian Curry serves as Founding Partner and Chief Movement Innovator at Apex Kinetic Integration, where he designs the training programs our mavericks move through. He believes fitness should have no limits, because it doesn't, and he builds every session around that conviction.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Christian grew up playing every sport he could get into and kept coming back to basketball. His work is rooted in faith and purpose, and it shows up as a judgment free space where progress belongs to every body, whatever it can do on day one.

Christian has spent over 7 years in the special needs community as a Registered Behavioral Technician and 6 years as a personal trainer certified through ISSA, pairing behavioral experience with hands-on coaching. He writes personalized programs that meet mavericks exactly where they are, blending technical skill with gamified movement so training feels like play and still produces real results. Attitude and autonomy first, goals and gains second.

Ariane J. Chapman serves as Founding Partner and Chief Strategy Officer at Apex Kinetic Integration, shaping how AKI grows so more people with developmental disabilities get real access to adaptive fitness. His guiding belief is simple: movement is a right, not a privilege.

Ariane spent over 20 years as a missionary across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Witnessing that resilience abroad convinced him the need at home was just as urgent, and he came back committed to serving it first.

A family man and retail business owner, Ariane holds a BS in Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing his ACSM certification to deepen how he serves the adaptive fitness community. He brings a grounded, human-centered approach to building the systems behind every person's chance to move, grow, and belong.

Mayra Esparza is from Compton, and that is where this work started for her. She grew up watching families qualify for services they never received, not because the help did not exist but because nobody ever explained it to them in a language they understood. Paperwork in English. Phone calls in English. A whole system built on the assumption that someone in the house could translate it. She decided early that she would be the person on the other end of that phone call.

She is first generation, the daughter of parents who came from Michoacán and built a life here from nothing. That background is why a Spanish speaking family calling AKI reaches someone who understands what they are really asking. She knows what it costs a parent to ask for help, and she knows how fast a family stops asking when the first person they reach cannot meet them where they are.

She studied nursing at El Camino Compton College, drawn to care work from the beginning, and found along the way that what pulled at her was not the clinical side but the part nobody was doing: making sure people could actually get through the door. She has spent 5 years in human resources since then, work that is quietly the right training for this. Intake is interviewing, handling private information with care, and walking someone through a process without losing them halfway. She had been doing all three for years before anyone called it intake.

At AKI she handles intake and enrollment for Spanish speaking clients and translates everything our community needs to see in its own language. A family that arrives unsure whether this is for them leaves knowing exactly what is available to them and how to get it.

Tatjana Lindeboom came to this work through medicine and left medicine to get closer to it. She practiced as a licensed dentist in the Netherlands and in Suriname, much of it with communities that had gone without regular care for years. Sitting with those patients taught her something that redirected her career. The barrier was rarely the treatment itself. It was everything around it, the appointment nobody helped them book, the form nobody translated, the system that assumed a family would find its own way in.

She has also watched this from inside her own family, where disability is not a category she studied but a person she loves. That is a different kind of knowing, and it shows up in how she works. She earned her Master of Social Work at Cal State Long Beach while working with organizations serving the special needs population, and what she found there confirmed what she already understood. The gaps were wide, they were predictable, and almost nobody was standing in them.

At AKI she consults on program design, working through the practical questions that decide whether a program reaches the families it was built for. Her background gives her an unusual view of the whole picture, from the health side of a participant's life to the systems surrounding it. She is fluent in Dutch and English, and she brings a calm, steady persistence to work that needs it.
